It was originally Cantonese named Tai Han Hau (Big Puddle), Sheung Wan area, Hong Kong, as water flowed into Victoria Harbour, and the site where British soldiers landed there on 26th January, 1841 and named it the Possession Point.The continual development of the place had led to the blockage of the big puddle with a road is English named "Possession Street" and Cantonese named "Shui Hang Hau Street".
